Default Brake Light Problems

I just baught a Sir Michaels roll pan and while wiring the light for the license plate i think i blew a fuse, my problem is now the drivers side brake light (top bulb) does not turn on as a running light when it gets dark but it will light up when i press the brake pedal. Ive checked every fuse i thought would control it with the help of my owners manuel, without any luck. Does anyone know which fuse i need to check that would control the top bulb of the drivers side brake light and/or the stock license plate lights. thanks.

Sounds like the bulb is bad...it has 2 separate filaments for running lights and brake lights. I'd pop a bulb in it first and take it from there.

yep, changed the bulb and it didnt fix the problem... any other sugestions? maybe since i eliminated the wiring of one of the license plate lights, do you think this could have thrown off some sort of "electrical loop" on the drivers side? thanks.

Pretty sure that you should be able to find the fuse that you're looking for under the hood...there's also a fuse panel on the left side of the dash, but I don't think that there's a tail fuse in there. Since you have a new bulb in there, if all of the fuses check out OK, you might have an open wire or faulty socket for the bulb.
