best upgrade to factory sub in denali/yukon/tahoe??
#1
I have a 2001 denali, would like to get more bass. I know it has a factory sub in the left rear. Does anybody make anything to just replace that with a better sub enclosure??? I think I"ve heard of some people just taking the factory enclosure out and making their own enclosure with a 10" or 12" sub. Anybody have any info on that or links to sub upgrades on these vehicles??
thanks, damon

just go to any aftermarket music place and either have them replace the factory sub which is i think an 8 inch. or just get them to just put in a new aftermarket sub. if u just want a little more bass just get like an mtx 10 or something.

That is one of my all time dreams... With my Suburban to pull out the paneling and make a 10" shallow mount sub fit in there. You don't have a lot of depth there to fit 90% of subs. But there is plenty of room there for at least a cu ft or so just a few inches forward.
If I did have the time to make a fiberglass enclosure, it would be using one of these:
AE SL-10 from AE Speakers

Q-Logic does. Put you a Memphis M-class 8 in there and it would sound great.

Too bad I have a bench seat and not a front center console.
having a sub up front is an awesome sound if one can pull it off. Underseat subs are fantastic, if done right. And no I'm not talking about a Kenwood Woox, but an honest to goodness subwoofer in a custom enclosure.

I've never liked JL audio as of the last five years, but this is probably the best turn key system out there:

I should probably just buy a new front seat with console to get this. it's easier then fabbing something up.

my truck is the denali SUV. JL's website says that the console one will not fit denali or escalade.....too bad, i like the jl stuff. I don't see any underseat ones for the denali.. Some I see for the tahoe/yukon....for under the driver side rear or middle seat if you want to call it, but it says it won't fit the denali either.....
