Default avic-d3 antennae

does the GPS work off of the trucks antennae? i have removed my antennae, do i have to put it back up? or does the unit come with a window mount that also does the radio and gps?

It comes with its own gps antenna, looks similar to a satellite radio antenna.

what he said.. it comes with its own antenna. I got mine hidden under dash and it works fine.

can it go in the pillar? where under dash? does it run the radio too? since i have terrible reception now that i have removed my antennae

When you pull your radio there is a little shelf in the very back under the vents, that where mine is. It wont run the radio. I listen to xm more so i use the stock xm antenna. I only put in regular one when i go on trips.

yeah i had my sirius antenna there and it got crappy a crapy signal..gps might be a better antenna

Mines under the dash too, stuck to the metal part with the magnet. I think it has to be mounted flat so you couldnt put it in the pillar
