Question Aux IPOD port.

I have a 2001 Silverado.
All stock stereo.
The tape player is separate and below the 1.5 din CD receiver.
There is a harness from the receiver to the tape deck.
There has to be a way to splice in a 3.5mm jack to plug in my ipod without buying a kit for 100 bucks!
ANY HELP?

not sure if you have an earphone jack but if you do they sell the aux wire that connects ur ipod to the earphone jack and it sounds perfect. that's what i did as i had horrible luck with the fm transmitters.

Need the wiring diagram. Need to know plus and minus for left and right channel, but I think you also need a way to send a signal back to the head unit that the ipod is playing, so it is using the signal from the aux input and not from any other source.

I have found an Axxess AIP-GM02-ID on Amazon.com for around $30 used, and it is an iPod adapter made to work with the Cassette head units with the CD units in the console. I've been tempted to buy it and see if it would work with the CD head unit.

$2.99 http://www.overstock.com/Electronics...6/product.html

just pop the tape in and connect your iPOD (or anything with a mini-din connector)

If your going to spend 50-60 bucks on an FM transmitter you might as well pony up 100 bucks for something hard wired, FM transmitters are garbage.
