Aux input device took a shit on me?
#1
hey guys.. a few weeks ago I ordered a "PRECISION INTERFACE ELECTRONICS GM12-AUX" from crutchfield. Its been working great. Use it all the freakin time.
Today me and a buddy installed a sub in the truck and now all of a sudden my aux in don't work!
I haven't gotten ***** deep in tearin my wires apart yet but did take the dash apart and checked to see if all connections were secured.
I used my cigarette lighter as the constant 12vdc source and I know if the lighter still works then current is flowin.
But the head unit just ain't pickin it up anymore. I found out when I went to go play some tunes from my ipod to test out the new sound system. I mean wtf...
Any input is greatly appreciated. get it? input.. eh.. no but for real.

I used the cigarette lighter as power for something (I can't remember what it was anymore) but it didn't work. There was not enough power, so I ended up tapping something else.
You may have knocked the wire going from your interface to your deck loose, when you installed the amp.

nah the wire is secured I installed the amp for the sub in the back of the cab. This contraption is inside the dash. But regardless its not a high power drawing device so the current that did run through the cigarette lighter was plenty. atleast enough to work.
I'm running my amp for the sub off that fuse block bolt which is directly connected to the battery. You think perhaps now that the whole system has to power an amp that it can no longer power other devices..
