Default Another sub box question? ECSB

I was wanting some input on the custom fit boxes for Extended Cab Silverado's I have a 04 BTW. I was looking for a ported box, and maybe using only one sub. I do like over kill, but I hate subs that all they do is move air.

I like the Subzero box, because it mounts to the seats itsself. Unless I am looking at it wrong, but it would be nice if they fliped up with the seat.

that doesnt mount to the seat. you can see it resting on the center hump.

and the most important thing about these underseat boxes is the air space. Match the air space from the box with a sub and it will sound 10x better.

yeah, i dont think you can really have overkill with the amount of space you have to work with under the back seat......probox also makes some pretty good boxes for our trucks....if you cant find one that you really like i say dont spend money on one, build one yourself that you are happy with....and like stated above match the sub with the box with the amp and it will sound dang good for one sub.....good luck with it...

Umm... I'm pretty sure all subs do is move air. Actually people pay more for subs that move more air...

I meant that I dont like subs that don't sound good when listening to music. They are just made to move air and rattle crap.

Would a front firing sub setup be better than a down firing? I read that down firing subs don't carry sound that well outside the cab. The more I think about it the more I just want a customer box.

only bad thing with that is the subs could get kicked if there is no protection on them....and generally speaking i dont think you will hear much bass outside the truck with the amount of airspace you have to work with....you would need a bigger sub than what you can fit.....i have 2 12" alpine type R, granted i have about $350 of dynomat, but you cant hear them real loud out of the truck....just to give you a comparison....

Sub thump has some nice boxes, I had one in my Camaro and I'm gonna get one for my truck. They're under $150 and they ship quickly.

Just do what I did on my '92 Chevy Ext. Cab. Just plan on carrying around alot of people. It goes all the way to the floor. There are two more 15"s behind the seats.
