Default amp is powered, subs arent

try to help me brainstorm things to check: my amp is getting power but the subs are not (just installed). is poor ground a possibility or would that mean the amp would not be on either? dont hesitate to point out anything obvious... the speaker wire is wired correctly in parallel, the gain is up....i used a LOC but im pretty sure i did it right

are the speakers that you tapped into for the loc still playing? that could indicate a possible problem with your wiring there... how about highpass low pass filter on the amp? if you are just sending high frequencies to the sub it wont play anything... ummmmmm i would check the ground but most likely the amp wouldnt turn on if the ground was bad...

other that im not sure.. you could go post in the fullsizechevy.com audio forums... its alot more active and there are many people there much wiser than myself..

prolly cheaper to buy a new amp than send it back to the manufacturer to be fixed. i was gonna say either rca cables or rca inputs.

I don't know too many places that refurbish amps....most amps are sent back to Viper, Sony, wherever you got it from and then they sell it to those guys at the flea market. Then they are sold to high school kids for bottom dollar prices and the kids think they are bad *** because they have this $700 amp for $200 bucks. Talk to the manufacture and ask some questions about how they can help you. I really hope you didn't pay $1200 bucks for that amp

thats a good amp, i have viper components in my kicks and doors so i know they make a quality product. my point is if you find someone that can fix it it probably wont be close to you so you will have to pay shipping both ways and to have it fixed (normally not cheaper than $100). plus when an amp is "fixed" it is very likely, though you cant tell how soon or how long it will last, that the same thing that was fixed will break again. so my suggestion is if a new amp thats comparable in features is within a $100 or so of what it will cost to fix it then i would go with the new one over the "fixed" one anyday.
