Default Alarm Problems

Long story short, my alarm sounded weird when I locked it, unlocked the door and opened it and the alarm went off. I tried to start the truck and it wouldn't crank, tried unlocking from the inside, outside, everything, and still nothing. I left the key in the ignition for 15 mins to see if it reseted and nothing. I disconnected the battery, waited 20 mins, and the truck finally started but the alarm kept going off even while driving home. What could I do? Its an 09 Silverado with factory alarm.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

...if only you were having problems with an aftermarket. I was half way through the paragraph, and thought I had it figured out, but then you hit me with the factory alarm part. I will say that is very indicative of inadequate voltage at the brain...with an aftermarket, but with factory I haven't a clue.

Idk what I did but I got it to stop honking, now the blue light on the alarm thing under the steering wheel is solid blue and wont turn off. Also, it still doesn't remote lock/unlock right, it still acts weird.

again, in an aftermarket alarm, a solid led indicates valet mode. is it possible that a button on your factory keyfob was pressed and held to put it in an equivalent mode?
