Just figured out why my 8 inch powered subbox wouldn't work even though I KNEW I had power to it. Turned out I didn't have the remote lug wired. Duh. I didn't want to always have the subbox powered, so I pulled the dash fusebox panel and found a green wire that had keyed power. Tapped into it, and now my airbag light is on. Is the green wire the power wire for the airbags? If so, I'm a COMPLETE DOLT, cause I've got my stereo wired into my airbag circuit. If not, can my airbag light be figured out and turned off with HPT? Thanks.

Just find another wire (as mentioned), put the other back how you got it. If you have HPT just reset your DTC's. I wouldn't suggest trying to kill that light, just get things back to normal.

I'm actually not sure if I got any DTCs, none of them looked like an airbag code anyways. Ya, guess I'll have to just put the remote wire to another source. Oh well. Thanks for the replies folks.

Air bag circuits are usually identified by having Yellow connectors on the ends, the wires can be any color. By tapping onto the airbag circuit if you did it will set the light because airbags work off of resistors, thats why you can find the resistance then add a resistor and disconnect the airbags if you don't want them. So by tapping a airbag wire you have changed the resistance, this could cause your bags to either not work or work when not wanted. Now as for how to fix it?? well that my be better done by the dealer as just removing the "tap" it may cause airbags to deploy. If you choose to try to do it yourself be sure and unhook the battery for a couple mins. to allow the airbag system to discharge, it stays powered with the key off in the event you were in a stranded vehicle that was hit.
