Default 1999 Sierra Guage Cluster

I would like to replace my current gauge cluster in my 1999 Sierra in order to have the temperature gauge. I am hearing that not all clusters will work properly with my year truck. My question is what year cluster and from what truck would i need in order to have the proper working gauges with a temperature gauge. And after i receive the proper cluster what will I need to do in order to have the proper millage and hours.

Thanks

JPCustoms.com makes clusters that are modified to work in the 99's, they're just plug and play, I bought my Denali cluster from them a few years ago. Or you can search around for someone who makes just the trans temp guage that adapts to your cluster (I believe USspeedo.com or something like that makes them). As far as the mileage goes, there are different places that can do that for you for a price...certain GM certified electronics repair facilities or other automotive electronics shops.

I just got off the phone with the dealership asking them if they knew of someone that could program the new cluster and I also told them that I was going to install a cluster with the temperature gauge. They promptly told me that my truck was not wired for the temperature gauge if it didn't already have one. Is there any truth to this?

He has a 1999 which will throw a CES light if you put a new cluster on. the 00-02's work fine but for some reason the 1999's have to be gay.

The 99 must be wired for it, as I mentioned above, my JPCustoms cluster was plug and play, and the guage functions great.
