10" sub, opinions?
i have two type R alpine 12" right now and i want to downsize for more space. just wanderin what kind of 10" subs you guys are runnin in your trucks that doesnt take up a whole lot of space. i will be running it in a sealed enclosure putting about 800watts rms to it. i want it to sound pretty loud when i want it to, but mostly just want it to blend in nicely with the rest of the music. TIA

thanks for the help guys!! i will just be running one but would like to keep my current amp so i will need something that can take a little power. ive got bout 600watts at 4ohms, 950watts at 2ohm, and 1450 at 1ohm. prolly run a 4 ohm load to give least amount of power, will the subs you have named take 600-700 watts rms? thanks.

The IDQ takes 300 watts RMS, you could get away with more, but not double.
Dayton MK III takes 500, it would be allright with your amp if you were careful with the gains and sensible with the volume.
Don't know about the DIYMA, the site is down and I can't find it anywhere...I forget, soz.
10 O series from ED, get the DUal 2, wire it to 4 ohms, you'll be fine.
JL is 300 watts rated.
I think your best bet would be the Elemental Designs, they are good subs, cheap and they'll work pretty dang good for ya!

Two 8's would probably need more room then a 10. If your doing it for the cool factor, that's cool I guess. It wouldn't get any louder. It'd also be a pain to build.

What amp do you have?
I'd say just get one beefy subwoofer that can handle 800rms by itself. If you really want 2 10's, get VC configurations that will create a 1ohm load and make use of that 1450watts.
