Default 08 GMC Crew cab (where to put amp?)

got a 08 GMC Sierra crew cab, got a dual 12 down firing sub box that goes under the back seat (2008 and up Chevy/Gmc Crew Cab New Body Style Subwoofer Box - Car) ,...I have no place for the amp lol, I wanted to mount it on the front of the box behind drivers seat, but damn amp is toobig and it wont mount to it,.....any ideas from anyone,...I heard some people mount them inside the back of the cab, but im worried about overheating and getting to the damn thing ,when needed.....anybody going through this?

thanks!

I have mine on the back wall. You just take out the back seat and cut some insulation out. If you're worried about getting to it I wouldn't put it there though. However, it's pretty much the only option.

he is correct. we just installed a system on a buddys 08 silverado ccsb and the only option for the amp was the backwall, to access the back wall we just removed the back seats and cut some insulation then screwed the amp to the back

it depends on amp, the plus side of my buddys intall we just did was that the custom box built for the truck has the port in the middle of the box and its pionted to the back directly to the amp (a coincidence) so i doubt it will overheat since its always getting air.

BTW, how did you secure the underlay to the back wall? I have done this before but used screws through the back wall. I dont wanna do that to this truck though. Any other ideas?

300.4 and a 1500.1.. they've been used for years in different vehicles, very nice amps. i secured using screws imagine you could probably use some thick 2way foam tape?

I have 2 amps mounted to the back like in the picture. I used some 3/4 mdf that I had left from the box and used L brackets that i attatched to the mdf then used screws throught the floor and the piece of metal that extends out just below the back window. That way there are no screws going through the back wall.

Some people on gmfullsize have used industrial velcro to mount the amps.
