Now I'm just curious, is there a big difference in performance/durability between your generic master install kits and the super expensive Yukon master install kits? I see the Yukon kits have timken bearings, but what brand are those in the generic kit? Koyo? Or just some no brand x type of deal?
If I remember right, my installer was also questioning where I got the generic install kit when he put in the truetrac and motive 4.30s I got from you a couple years ago for my sierra. I don't remember him saying good or bad about it either way really, and I honestly haven't had one minor issue with it, but it makes me wonder how the yukon kit could possibly be that much better?

I'm also still wondering if I really need to splurge for the 1541H axles too... I haven't seen or been able to find any feedback on them at all from someone who is running them...

Also, will I be able to reuse my OE wheel studs with them, or will I need new ones altogether?

Very good questions! We normally sell the generic plain box kits, we never have any problems with these and they are far less expensive. We offer the Yukon kits for name brand shoppers, I don't feel the parts are any better than the plain box kits. Normally there are no problems with the factory axles, but the aftermarket axles are a good insurance policy. The stock studs will fit.

Thanks, Ron

Thanks for the response. Yeah, that's kind of what I was assuming, simply a namebrand association thing...
Now what about the Timken "HD" bearings?

And do you have the black coated 1541H axle kits? would be for a 2001 Silverado 8.6, disc. Or do you just sell the axles uncoated and individually, and bearings/seals separate?
