Better hope it never breaks I've had mine back over there for over two months and have not heard from them in over a month for the rebuild quote Andy said they would get back with me on.

Have you called them? Andy's picked up the phone every time that I've called...he answered the phone today while his hands were covered in ATF since he was working in the shop because they were one man down.

I called several times before the last time and every time he says he'll call back and never does I think its pretty crappy he said he was going to get me a quote from Chuck over a month ago and he said I'll call tomorrow and never did. I wanted to see how long it would take before he'd get it, but I guess I know now. The last time I did call they said they had my tranny torn apart for a week and never let me know the status. Poor service if you ask me, just my experience.

There are a few things you are not quite being truthful about. First of all when your trans came back here it was torn down, inspected and you were given a report within a week. At which point you stated you did not have the money for the repairs. As it turns out you broke an output shaft. We told you if you were going to treat your vehicle like you do the billet output shaft was a must along with our level 5 upgrade. The last time we had your unit here you had broken a planet if I remember correctly. Another hard part. We took very good care of you then and warned you of this situation we are talking about today. This tells me that your driving habits might have something to do with the cause of your failures. Last we talked you said you were going to install a junkyard trans and sell your vehicle. We have not heard from you since. Your posts do not belong in this thread. Feel free to give me a call. Andy

No, that is not what was said. I said I was not going to spend another $2300 for a trans I had $2200 in already and asked you to get with Chuck and get me an estimate to build it back to a Lvl 4. You said you would and you would give me a call in a day or two, that was over a month ago. I did say I would sell the truck but that is hard to do with no trans. Also after it broke the first time Chuck did make a pretty good deal to rebuild it even though it was less than 6 months old and "still in warranty" and then he said "if I was going to take the radix off Lvl 4 would be plenty enough for a basically stock truck with 170000+ miles". So I pulled the charger and put the trans back in with a brand new converter and trans cooler, and that was not the case. I know by posting this they will be people that don't want to hear it and talk crap but I'm sorry and this is my experience. Also if a mod wants to they are welcome to split this to a new thread.

Just to give Andy a little defense, he always answered the phone when I called and had questions. He apologized for the tranny taking a little longer than the 4 weeks required to build it, but it was definitely worth the wait. But I also had all the the billet put in with the Level 5 tranny. If you gonna have horsepower you gotta pay to play, that's the only sucky part. I have not had one problem with my tranny and I love the way it comes alive when you drive it hard. I'm not worried about it breaking, I'm waiting for the rearend to go south before I fear for the FLT. But as I hear ppl say all the time, go BIG or GO home.

Well I'm glad you had good luck with them. I'm not trying to knock on them too hard but as I said this was my experience. I just like how Andy say I abuse the truck but my stock transmission lasted over 160000 miles and their "built" ones both lasted less than 5000 miles. I know with a 4l60e its the luck of the draw.

Yea with 4L60E usually its the luck of the if you get one that lasts awhile. Mine took a dump at 59,000 miles, but I'm sure the procharger didn't help it. Anyways good luck with the tranny issues I hope it all works out good.

The tune plays a large part in transmission life. Ive played this game before but not with FLT, but it was a combination of my lack of free time and my misscomunication with the builder.

If i knew then what i know now, im sure id still be running my 4L65E with all the hardened internals and goodies.

My conclusion was i should have removed the washer from the accumulator and replaced the Superior Super Servos with a Vette Servo. 1-2 shifts were extremely harsh but i didnt know any better.

After 2 broken output shafts (one stock, and one hardened) i decided to go with a junkyard 80E. Havent looked back, and never will.

Yea I know hard shifts will kill them, mine had the vacuum modulator and that is suppose to help out with how firm it shifts with out the computer telling it anything.
