I know, I know, Fuddle got sick, the dog ate my homework....etc. etc. As expensive as this **** is, and it is outrageous to mod a Gen III motor....It kills me when people get ripped off. Some of these vendors act like they are doing you the favor for even doing anything for ya.....that's bullshit. BTW, Good luck, I'm sure you will be fine if you used a credit card. Sorry for the rant.
You forget that Yank sucked for a good long while before they got their **** back together. Their converters were coming apart and taking trannies with them. Now it appears they're on the road to recovery but it will take the a while longer before I would trust them again.

I don't remember that. I do remember some having issues with customer service, but not with converters coming apart. I'm sure every converter company out their has had a "bad" one in the bunch sooner or later, but it's about the numbers. I know Lingenfelter has been using Yank converters for years....longer than this site has even been around....with nothing negative to say. I think most of the issues with converters of any brand is the fact that whoever installed it didn't "push it in" all the way, and the pump gets burned out of the transmission. Truth be told, I bet that's about 90% of all problems people have with "new" converters.

Yank has certainly had some famous customer service issues, but they also had some serious QC issues for a while as well. As long as you bought an off-the-shelf converter you were okay, but any converter they tried to restall came out with problems. There are some people who are very well known on this board who have said they will never buy Yank again. And these are not install issues, these are acknowledged quality control issues I am talking about.

I've had two Yanks and two PI converters now and would buy either one of them again. A good while back there was some issues with the clutch material burning up in some of the higher stalled yanks but, it might have had something to do with the way the computer controlled the lockup also from what I read. I really haven't heard any complaints lately.

As far as transmissions, there is no way I'd go with anything but a FLT at this point. Chuck and the crew have proven they know how to build a transmission and just as important take care of the customer as well.

Just me personally, I don't see how Rock On is out the money they've put in the trans. It shouldn't be much of a problem to sell that transmission to someone else especially with the way the 4L60E's blow up all the time.

Rock on is a sponsor on Tech and you have a thread over there already so I'm going to lock this one.
