the one in the vid is new. R2 is used on a ship primarily, this one is set up for mortar and RPG attacks. It is the same system, just on a different platform and some hardware changes.

GoodGosh! thats a nice chuck of metal flying out there.
Are the tracers every 10th rd?
We were in Navarre Beach, FL several years ago at a Softball Tournament. We kept hearing this odd noise. Almost like a Full Auto being shot somewhat closeby. Never could figure it out. There was this man sittin beside us, he just looked over and told us to look up and watch the aircraft circling. He was in the Service and worked on the AC130 and stuff like that. It was this AC130 Gunship circling and just letting out a 5 second burst with a 20MM "mini gun" (whats the correct name?)
We watched him fly for over an hour. You could see a fireball come out of the side of the aircraft, then wait about 20 seconds and then hear that Aweful BUZZZ.
It was wicked!! So i didnt watch too much of the softball game..

I dont know about the tracers, on our system, we didnt have an optical sight, everything was operated from the radar so we didnt have a need for tracers.
C130 Gunship is called the Spectre. It also has a 105mm howitzer and other goodies onboard. http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/ac-130.htm
