Default well stuff changes again

well i decided i would really like a house, and its either house or truck as im sure it is with alot of us young kids on pt.net. i still would love a 12 second truck but i guess i will settle for a 13 sec. and i would like to just throw a 5.3L in my truck and get rid of the 4.8 and change my cam from a 226/226 to a 220/220 or 224/224. i believe that cam plus all my bolt on will easily be a mid 13 second truck. anyways just wondering where i can get a 5.3L for a fair price and under maybe 15k or 20k. thx fellas

no offense... i would just wait a little while and save the few extra hundred bux to go with a 6.0.. the power difference from a 5.3 to a 6.0 is quite different and you arent talking that much more expensive.

6.0 blocks can be found pretty cheap lq4 or 9's... I dont have any connections to any right now, im just saying, you might just want to go with a 6.0 rather than doing the whole engine swap and only putting a 5.3 in there.

I don't blame you man. I had big plans too but things change and priorities change. I sold my LQ4 longblock to pay off some debt and now I'm just settling for getting my truck into the 13's. Just more important things in life right now I guess. Good luck with whatever you do!

I am with some of the other guys. I would just wait and save up the extra money for a 6.0. Work some ot or prostatute your self(jkn) for the extra money. When ya get the 6.0 it will be a big difference over the 5.3, you will be glad ya didn't go threw the bullcrap for the 5.3. Either way ya go goodluck with it..

How about you just stop putting $$ into the truck. Leave it as it is, get the house situation settled, and then pick up where you left off. Don't go spend $$ on a new truck or a 5.3, as you will be in the hole. Also, if you did buy the 5.3, you would just kick yourself later for not waiting on the 6.0.

There is no replacement for displacement.
