We got one in our town a few months ago. Don't know of anyone getting nailed by it so far.

I doubt it's required to have postings stating the cameras are being used. Would be kinda like the sign "Cop over the next hill". But the signs being there alone probably stop more infractions than the actual cameras.
The "Protected by ADT" signs in from of your house deters more thieves than the actually system
