Default titling an abandoned car

Theres a early Gen IV (94-95) Camaro up here thats been sitting for months and months and has no valid inspection, registration and hasnt been moved in FOREVER... its a V6 car and looks to be in solid shape. I was wondering if anyone knew how I could go about retitling it so I'd have a daily driver and so I could park the truck during the week... I would like to keep the miles off this thing... they are racking up.... if anyone has any experiences with this let me know.

Where is it? Private property or public?
Do you know any tow truck drivers?
Find someone to do a VIN search for last registered owner.
DMV search?

If it were here abandoned, one of the Duke boys would have been driving it around months ago. What's registration?
