I don't under stand why they don't open both sides of the highway from the beginning. In Fla the evacuation routes use both sides of the highway in times of emergency. Or government is amazing. They could f@#k up a one car funeral. Afterwards they will hold hearings to find out who is to blame and start their finger pointing. They are quick to point out what should have been done after the fact, but none of them will take charge of the situation when it matters.

It is unbelievable around here, no gas, people hanging out on the dividing walls on 290 b/c traffic ain't goin' NOWHERE! I'm stayin to try to weather it and also help out around the community after Rita hits. It looks bad and we're prepping for the worst but prayin for the best. Everybody in and around here, be careful please and think smart. Good luck ya'll.

We made it to the Ft Worth area. It took us about 9 hours to get from Beaumont to Denton. No complaints. We feel fortunate to make it up here. All hotels are booked even well into Oklahoma. What a mess. You guys staying near the coast hunker down and we'll keep you in our prayers.

Were staying put here in Tomball aka north Houston. We should recieve some pretty high winds around here so all we have to worry about is the trees. I did go with my dad to board up three houses in Texas City yeterday. I hope my grandmothers house is still there after all this but we know the chaces of it getting serious damage is very high. I wish the best to everybody that is still hear and to those that left

The traffic is crazy everyone running out of gas and stuff. My parents went about 25 miles in 7 hours. We are hanging out here in Beaumont for now. Hope we can get out tomorrow or make it through Friday night. Good luck to everyone else out there.

Best of luck you guys...I hope that everyone has either "hunkered down" (I hate that phrase) or gotten the hell outta dodge. Check back in as soon as you can and let us know that everything is okay!
