Default Tennessee people...answer some questions for me?

I'm looking to relocate come graduation time (May 2008), and I have heard that TN has pretty mild summers and winters. For those of you who read my Texas/South thread, this is the same thing, only directed towards TN. What is the job market like out there? Real estate? Cities and/or parts of cities to lean towards or stay away from? Just looking for kind of a brief overview of what it would be like to move out there. I'll be graduating with my MBA and an undergrad degree in Industrial Engineering, and looking for something in the project management field most likely.

Thanks

I knew that turbo would want to come back home one day!

I live in N. Alabama about 40mins up the interstate to TN. I saw you were looking into the Nuclear industry. I work in it so I might could help some there. There was and still is huge nuclear projects in progress and planned for the next 10 years at least in the N. AL and E. TN areas. There are several car plants in the TN, AL area. Several have moved in due to cheaper wages and weaker unions in the south. The Toyota V8's that are in the Tundras are built in Huntsville, AL as well as International Diesel where the F-series Fords are built. Huntsville is the engineering capital of the South. With Redstone Arsenal that supports Missle defense, NASA/Martial Space Flight Center, Boeing, Mcdonald Douglas and many many more. Just go to Boeing's website and do a search for jobs in the SE and you will see. There are at least 50 open engineering positions in Huntsville alone right now. There are 3 major development areas for the Space programs which are Huntsville AL, Houston, and of course the Cape in FL. Huntsville is mainly eng , design and testing. Especially the propulsion systems. Heck my dad retired a GS15 in Missle defense on Redstone Aresenal. With Bush's Consolidation plan of military bases, Huntsville is one that didn't get cut, they are recieving many of the cut jobs. A few thousand will be moving here over the next 2-3 years. Just give me a call if you want to talk. 256/476-2598 will get my cell.

Oh, and on Realestate, my wife is a realtor so I can help there too. But in a nut shell you can get a new construction in town ~1800 sq ft and .25-.4 acre lot for the $200k range. Or move out of town and it gets cheaper. TN market seems to be comparable.
