it will always be slow...

got the motor out tonight, got the heads stripped down and the cam swapped in. i went with a Lq9 cam over the LS1 cam only because the lq9 cam is brand new. you can still see the machining in the piston sleeves. carbon buildup isnt all that bad. the only thing im not sure about is that theres enough of a gap between the piston sleeve and piston itself to see a little of the piston skirt...not sure if thats normal or not??? the guy helping that seems to know the most says its not normal but im not sure cuz the sleeves look brand new. any thoughts?

im learning a shitload about these engines in the last 2 days. i love it

just a guess, but a little less gap between the top of the piston and the sleeve as a DVD cd

 

Do you remember our friend....Mr. Piston rock? You are staring at a cold piston. I could take mine and move it back and forth within the bore. Once that piston gets heated up, the metal will expand and fit better.

Im calling 13.4s (I see vic red with an LS1 running 13.3s NA but with a cam and a lighter truck.) with a hookin *** 60'. You need to cam that bitch!!!
