I would love to see a catagorized event like the Shootout but that will be hard to do with the different makes. For instance, in the stock class, you could have a Lightning aginst a 4.8 Ext cab. How fair would that be? It would have to be done as a modified index in .5 sec increments from 15.5 - 11.0. Anything faster than that would have to be in the King of PTN class. I hate to say it but if it is going to be a success the first year, it is going to have to be held in the majority demagraphic of PTN... Texas. Lets face it, there just arnt going to be a lot of trucks that are going to drive more than a few hours to the event. Guys with trailors are going to be the only ones to travel a long distance, which most of us truck guys dont have. The long drive to the event is not the problem. However breaking something 500 miles from home without a way to get back is.

As mutch as I hate to, I must agree. Unfortunatly the majority of PT is in Texas, but it would be nice to have a place close to home. Or at least a resonable distance from most in the southern section. I dont know where hub city is exactly, but that wouldnt be too bad for me, but the Houston guys probably wouldnt come that far.

I'm going to the GTG on the 19th, and hope I dont break anything, that would suck to
1. find a ride home (easy part)
2. find trailer
3. find truck to pull trailer back to houston to get truck
4. pull truck back home
5. go to work
6. fix truck
7. return trailer and a couple cases of beer to deliver to trailler owner, and truck owner

But you gotta pay to play.

MMP would be an awesome place to have it!!!! Only 3 hrs away from me as well. Regardless, I think I can hook up with a car hauler to go just about anywhere....that is if Bondo can back up what he talks. I think we will definately be using it to go to Thunder this year.

MMP is exactly what I was thinking. It is right dead in the middle of the south, and a damn good track at that. Only thiing about MMP is it may be harder to book it.

In the differnt classes, even though a blower is stock on a L, I dont thing it would belong in a class with n/a stock trucks, it would have to be in power adder class or something else. But then again you could have a class or two with an index, and a few classes for a heads up shoot out.

MMP all the way. But the only thing bad about that is, it is the home of the Thunder Shootout champion 2 straight yeras in a row.
