"product is sold as is, no refunds or returns accepted"
"all parts in working order at time of sale"

is it possible that the locks slipped out of the box during shipment and UPS is at fault?

His response:

No lockers were in the box.
I looked again just to be sure.
Everything else is there including the red shop towels.
Part of the bearing race or case is missing.
This allows the needles to move to the side instead of staying on the race.
The needles will not fall out but they move enough that I would be afraid to use
them.
I will try to take a picture of them .
Are these bearings hard to change?
Thank you
John

My response:
The locks were in there at time of shipment just to be clear Im tlaking about the little black things that are at the bottom of the picture on the ebay ad. I dont know how they are worn out since they worked fine on my truck for 3K.

Doesnt really sound like he is trying to screw me but you never know. I dont really want ot buy them back and deal with reselling them and all that plus eating the cost of shipping Im not going to go that route. It just really puzzles me how they are "messed up" when they worked fine on my truck and just sat in a box for 6 months in the garage. He asked how hard are they to replace and hell I never took the rockers apart so I dont ahve a clue. The rockers didnt have any play in them when you put the stud through them and try and rock the rocker body on them there wasnt any play so...

I dont know man. It seems like he is saying that there is alot of stuff missing or not in order for a product that you KNOW is in order. I dont know what locks or bearings would look like or where they would be. If he knows so much about what he is looking at why is he asking you how hard they would be to replace?? Sounds like he is testing the waters to see what he can get out of you. I would proceed with caution.

Yeah he acts like he knows so much about the rockers then asks what I think about replacing

Newest repsonse:
You asked me to prove the condition of the bearings.
I was hoping a pic would do that for you.
The pic ,proof, would have been to honor your request.
Do you want a pic?
How do you suggest I provide you with proof?
No rocker arm adjusting nuts with setscrews were in the box.
No locks were in the box.
The box came taped up with the shipping label on the top.
Will it be difficult to find some more bearings?
Will they be difficult to install?
Are the locks specific to this type of engine?
Is it possible the bearings were a factory mistake?
I pretty much lost on this any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
John

Just offer to buy them back and call it a loss for the both of you. Too many questions to even worry with it. You will obviously lose the locks an maybe shipping but you will be way ahead not having to deal with it. One thing about ebay, you don't always win.
