Talking setup i'm looking at

first of all, i may be getting a 6.2l out of a truck. this will replace the 6.0 in my truck now.

ok, talked to pete and this is what we come up with, work the exhaust side of the heads, 5 angle valve job and shave the heads .020. use patriots spring kit with titanium retainers and springs good for .650 lift.

replace the truck intake with the ls3 intake and slap a 92mm tb on the front.

here is where we haven't decided to discuss due to a lack of a converter for the 80e i want to put in. i'm looking at either another 3200 stall verter like whats in the 60e or step up to a 3600 stall verter. this will be coupled with 4.10 gears in the truck.

that will be the motor. nothing fancy, nothing exotic. of course full bolt on's will be in place. only question i have is what are the injectors on these trucks and what are they capable of? looking at spraying a 150 to 200 shot through a plate.

so yall tell me, is it worth it? i will be selling my current heads and cam 6.0 and tranny and verter to pay for this.

What cam you going to run? With my cam (244/248 .612/.615 112lsa) Im lookin at running a 3200-3400 converter and spraying 100 off the line and progress another 150. I have l92s milled .030 and Vic Jr intake and FAST 4 barrel TB. Ill be spraying through a 4150 plate.

at this point we didn't discuss cam sizes. so with this motor i am learning what is big, what is small and what is gonna be just right. back in the day everyone thought the 224/224 cam was too big for a 6.0 and slowpro did it then i did it in a 5.3.

dirt track, with your heads milled .030 what did that do for your comp ratio?

i have not looked at the fast 4 barrel. another member on here mentioned it to me and i just haven't gotten around to looking at it. i need to do that. i don't mind the vic jr what so ever. i actually like that set up

hey matt, we can run em now as is anytime. or if you want to wait, i can do that too. i never remember having trouble with a certain 4x4 at the track

well, not really, lets see, matt had some weak sauce dr's that he blew out on the skreet. plus one for me. at the track he did beat me once. but i had to sneeze and took my foot off the peddle when i did. so that was a push. then again, i had the bottle to be my back up. hmm, 4x4 single cab, vs a 2wd ecsb. 6.0 vs 5.3. i win.
