Default Rollpan Installation..

Just got my roll pan in the mail and wanted to see what shops any of you might reccomend that can adjust it and paint it, not weld in just bolt on. Im located in NW houston so it be best if anyone knows a shop in that area who can do it... Also, how much does it usually cost to have that kinda work done and how long?

Just have someone paint it, Its not difficult at all to put it on. Helps to have a friend there to help you put it on, but I did mine on my old crew cab by myself. Just don't be afraid to use masking tape to tape off the edges of the bed and the pan, that way you don't scratch either one up doing the install.

I think the shop I used to paint mine was about 150 or so.

Doesn't the pan need to be adjusted to fit just right or can I just pretty much bolt it right up and it fit just like it supposed to?

It will most likely need to be adjusted a little bit here or there, but as long as you test fit it before hand, mask every painted area off that could possibly come in contact with each other, you should be fine. I actually also used a couple small strips of double sided tape to hold the pan in place at the top where the metal screws go into to I could line everything up and take my time and make sure it was right.

Really not all that difficult at all to do. Although some paint shops might not charge that much to do the paint and the install.

And you didn't say, but is it a Steel Roll pan like sir mikes? If so, you should just need about 6-8 sheet metal screws to mount to the top up by the bed floor and then the pan should have come with 2 kinda L-shaped brackets that mount to the frame and the screw to the inner lip of the bottom of the pan. At least thats how mine was.

go out and test fit it before you paint it- you want to make sure you have the right one and test fitting it is about the only way to do it. a buddy of mine ordered one for his s10- sent it to paint- then tried to install it... woops- it was for a nissan or something but regardless he was stuck with it. He paid for the pan- painting and all and didn't have shi7 to put it on.
And like L3 said- tape up anything you don't want to take a chance at scratching.
Good Luck
