no the flowmaster isnt the best flowing muffler by a long shot, any of the chambered mufflers designs restrict flow but sound better to some people, take the magnaflow for instance, if you hold it straight you can look through it like a tube, you cant do that with a flowmaster, any muffler with a straight-through design is better that the flowmaster

also some complain about the highway drone of the flowmaster

Nightrunner, what about the back pressure that the Flowmaster gives. And for me, I'd like to keep the sound to a light rumble. I don't think a Lady's truck shouldn't sound like something from Fred Sanford's. I like just a little vroom-vroom sound.

i doubt it would be much of a SOTP feeling between the two but tubing size gives you most of the backpressure in the exhaust system

the flowmaster would probably be fine for what it sounds like you want ( sound more than performance)

Try magnaflow. They are subtle and sound good. Also my Hooker aerochamber with higher compression, cam and no cats sounds very nice but not over the top. Highway driving is very nice.

I love FLOWMASTER suck threads! They are interesting. I have 3 magnaflow exhaust 5.3ls and 1 4.8l, to let someone ride in and prove they drone more, I can prove to you they all three drone worse then my flowmaster 40 series EVERY did.
