Looks and sounds great man.... Thats a pricey thermostat housing you got there. Those things are awesome just expensive. I have a 71' Nova Im building right now as well. What kind of power are you expecting from the 406?

The guy i bought it from said that about 450hp. It gets up and moves on through pretty good! You got any pics of the 71? Yes the thermostat housing was pricey, but, it just looks so good and will last forever. Also got the stainless heater hose connecters which you can see one of them beside the thermo. housing.

it's got a starting problem at the moment. it has a little *** starter on it. i think it needs a high torque starter. Sometimes it starts on the first turn like a new car, and other times it grinds and makes a horrific sound. I know i am going to pull the starter and the flywheel be eat slam up. I'll bring it by as soon as i get some of these small issues worked out.

Sweet man, should be a blast to drive. I was almost going to build a 406 before I found a clean 96 3/4 ton 350, 4 bolt main roller block to build. I agree on the thermostat housing that thing is a work of art, excellent quality. I only have one picture of the car on my computer but have a bunch I took of the buildup when i first got it just need to scan them all in one day. It's stripped down right now as I am building it in a semi Pro-Touring theme with an upgraded front suspension, a C4 vette front brake conversion, with coilovers up front with a set of 17's.

Heres one of the car, and one of how it is basically sitting now:

Front frame and firewall are in primer here, but the front suspension has since been torn apart. Its tough finding the funds to balance both the upgrades for my truck and the Nova buildup....

yea, that's kind of the route i'll be going, possibly a winter project! The guy i bought it from had a 69 camaro original 396 car with a set of 17/18" intro wheels. It was so fine! I like your car a lot, are you going to put a brake booster on and keep the a/c?
