my last step to 11's

Yeah, I pulled it out when my FAST exploded and tried the LQ9 but i never ran it because one of my pistons broke. So i had to pull it out repair it and it seems to be holding up now. Those base times are a little deceiving because my truck was nose diving after 2nd because my converter command was at 77mph lol. I'll keep you posted on future runs. Hey I did'nt know you were from Austin. How are the tracks over there?

MPH are not always directly related to the intake. For example i'm running 13.2x @ 103.xx on my '08 5.3 on a tight converter with a 1.86 60' stock intake/heads. On my 05 I would hit a 12.7 at around the same MPH with a loose converter and a 1.6x 60' stock intake/heads. It's all about your 60 foots and finding a sweet spot on your converter.
i agree with you for the most part i ran the 216/220 comp cam for the longest time i had a 3600 ptc stall and 4.56 gears and was shifting at 7200 and 7400,when i ran 12.59 at 108.43.this was all with a truck intake and no it was not pulling pass 7k,but i was better for the shifts.
oh yea and this was with 26" m/t dr.

There have been several. DBW trucks are not that forgiving on FAST intakes. Those things are very fragile but yet they claim that they are stonger than the stock material. All BS. That is why I want to go with cable driven on spray. When the DBW senses any sort of glitch or misfire the TB closes and if you don't have burst panels the intake turns into a bomb with all the nitrous and fuel trapped in there.

Well thats fine.........what about me shifting @ 6800 1-2 and then 6600 2-3 with a 3.73:1 gear. 4X4 with an LS6 intake and cutting a 1.70 60', 12.48 e.t. and a 106.xx mph......???? I'm going to throw some gears in it, taller tire and possibly a cal-tracs set-up later down the road. I'll be after that 11.99 index.........
I think I would lose on the big end & e.t. with truck intake. My 60' would be better but the truck intake would choke on the big end and cost me my gained 60' short time.
I don't know Kevin........I hope you get your 11.99 index!!!!!! That would be very impressive!!!!!

You will most definatly need:
1. FAST intake 92mm
2. Very loose converter
3. P/P heads
4. Great tuning and play around with you lock-up
5. 28" slicks with VHT
6. Oh and Great weather
I'm perty sure i would have come close to the 11s that "miracle night" when everyone ran killer times, but oh well. I moved on to a 6.0 hoping to set the bar.
good luck kevin let me know if I can help.
