I am pleased to tell everyone that I will not be buying any new mods for the truck for awhile... Probably a long while... The reason is because when I was leaving Saturday afternoon, my girlfriend told me she is pregnant and she just found out!
I am very excited. We had been talking about it for awhile now and were even trying. I thought it was gonna be put off til I got back though. We took a test about 2- 2 1/2 weeks ago and it was negative then she took one two days before I left and it was good!
I am really happy. I called my entire family and they cant wait either! BTW, I got here and will not be in Afghanistan for another month or so. I'm kinda half way-ish... So I know I will have internet access for this time anways and it sounds like I will when I get there too!

Actually I'm getting out. I have 242 days left. I have a couple of jobs already lined up when I get back. Not exactly sure which one I am gonna take. This is my 3rd deployment in the last 3 years. I have spent no time at home. I know that I can go I&I or somewhere that doesnt deploy but then that'll put me just over 8 years in a job and then have to go back to deploying again, where I can put time into let's say the Sherrif's office or the county and be at home.

Just FYI, When I got out in December, I took about a 1200/month pay cut.... I'm not regretting it by any means, but with someone to take care of you should consider that... and trying to bridge the gap with unemployment insurance or something wont cut it either, you wont get paid JACK.... Just trying to give you the real world scoop... I got out as a 6yr Cpl...

Thanks for the heads up man. I know I have spent the last 7 months or so looking at jobs back home. I will do whatever it takes to be out, wether I have to work a couple jobs untill I get saved up or whatever the case is. It doesnt matter. I'm only sittin a little over 3 1/2 years in now as a Cpl and I wont get out until Novemeber. I already have a house and just shy of 9 acres at home. That will almost be paid off by the time I get home. I have been planning on getting out so I have been trying to take care of as much as I can. I see to many guys that dont do anything and end up back in the gun club.
