Just to throw it out there... I started the R&R at 3:45pm.... we called it a night at midnight... Me and Skinnyman took an hour for supper.. But right now i have the Motor Bolted down. All there is left to do is bolt the trans up, put the Intake Manifold on, hook the wiring up, install the waterpump, A/C, PS, Throwing some new TR6's in there also, flash a new tune on it.
I figure if we get started bout 7-8am we should be through before we go to lunch...

Dockrocker came by to keep us entertained, and SemiHemi and Skinnyman helped..

Havent found anything wrong with the 5.3 yet.....
165,000 miles and the cross hatchs are still in the Cyl Walls... This poor lil motor has seen many of its days on the rev limiter (6400) playin the the mud and burnouts... Its out lived a few transmissions also....

I hope i can find the problem with it... if not i would hate to sell it and the ghost release the smoke on somebody...

Been finished man.... cleaning up the shop and tryin to double check the tune..... and lettin some RTV cure...

Where the EGR went back into the Intake Manifold...

Took care of that...

 

The low end power of the LQ4 is nice...

Having a problem gettin it to richin up when i get in boost....

Fuel is perfect cruising around in vacuum....

 

I got your text saying you were getting that motor but I didn't think youd have it in so quickly!!!!! Good Luck!!!! I picked up a new LS1 this week as well>

Yea.. the 5.3 wasnt kickin it anymore and i got a great deal on this one..
Its nice, but it would be alot funner if i could get the tune squared away.
