Well at least I don't feel so bad, I blew up my trans on the way to the track today. Should have trailered it, but but today I decided to drive it. Atleast I beat the Mustang, maybe I shouldn't have left the light of the trans brake.

damn i would love to see somebody leave a red light off the trans brake.... LMFAO... but sorry to hear about that trans.... ranwalk you may have gotten lucky and the piece that broke or burnt off might have blown out the exhaust valve and didn't hurt anything

Randy, looks like you just burnt the ground off. That is a common problem with FI. Get some new plugs and check your tune(afr/timing). Do you have a wide band in the truck?

Update---I changed the plugs this morning and fired it up. No abnormal sounds from the engine, sounds fine. I will not be celebrating too soon though. Time will tell, and I will be checking the plugs soon after I drive it a litte. The tr6's that were in it were the original ones I had in it when the engine was built. Only had 5300 miles on them, but they have been run on 2 different tunes, 2 different size Whipple pullies and I also drove around for about a week only making 2 pounds of boost running pig rich because I had a problem with the bypass valve not closing fully. did any of that cause this? with my luck, no it didnt. I have my fingers crossed that all is good now.
I dont have a wideband. I can probably check a few things at work with the tech2.
The tune was just checked a few weeks ago at Allans though. I guess these plugs could have allready been on thier last leg by then? Several of the other plugs looked like the ground had been pretty hot too, just didnt burn anything off of them.

Could you beg/borrow/steal/rent a scope to look in there? Maybe that head should come off or is there a way to reach in there through the plug hole to pull that scrap piece out? Running it sounds to me like a bad idea.
