Salisbury Steak with onion mushroom gravy
The wallyworld shopping list of what you need.
a small onion
1 pack of fresh mushrooms
2.25 pounds of 80/20 hamburger
1 tube of crackers
A1 steak sauce
Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce
minced dried Garlic
dry Celery flakes
1 packet of Lipton's Beefy Onion soup mix
1 egg
3 or 4 packets of onion gravy mix.
Step 1
Wash Hands. you will be handling a mix of raw meat with a raw egg.
Step 2
WASH you damn hands, your cooking to impress your lady friend.
Step 3
In a large bowl add half of a tube of crackers.
Crush crackers until it looks like bread crumbs.
Dump all of the meat on top, now this can sit.
Step 4
If you have a food processor, if not get a sharp knife and start chopping.
In to the processor.
Peal and cut the small onion in half.
Add tea spoon of minced garlic.
Add a tea spoon of celery flakes.
whip it up in the processor, don't have one chop the onion up
Fine and put the mix in a bowl.
Step 5
Add your onion, garlic, celery mix to the meat.
Crack one egg and drop on the meat, toss the shell in the trash.
Now add 3 caps of Worcestershire and 2 caps A1.
And 1 packet of the beefy onion soup mix.
Step 6.
Damn what a mess in this bowl.
Now your thinking what am I going to do with this ****.
with your clean washed hands start mixing
Just get in too it and mix it all well.
this will take a few minutes, when done make the mixture in
To a ball and set it in the fridge for about 30 minutes to an hour.
Step 7.
Now you can go two ways with this.
Form it in to a loaf, top with BBQ sauce and you got a meat loaf.
Or it is back to the recipe.
With some plastic warp or a freezer bag.
Take the mix out of the fridge.
Break off some and form in to a 2 inch ball with your hands.
place the ball in a freezer bag or on some plastic wrap and
Press down and make a patty 1/2 inch thick.
Toss in a skillet with a little oil and cook it like a hamburger.
depending on the size of the ball of mix you should come out
With 8 to 10 patties.
Set the patties in to a container.
Step 8
Wash off 5 or 6 large mushrooms.
Cut the mushrooms in to slices.
Follow the directions on the back of the gravy packet.
make 3 or 4 packets of gravy and add the sliced mushrooms
To the gravy mix.
pour the onion mushroom gravy over the patties and let it sit
While you make up some mashed potatoes or rice to go with it.
