I totally agree. When I quit driving my C5 to work because I was scared it was going to get keyed I sold it. Why pay for something you aren't going to use. I hated to sell it but it wasn't worth having anymore.

So be sure to right down your mileage before you drop it off.

Trust me, that topic will be thoroughly covered with the body shop. The car will not hit the road without me present - no exceptions and no excuses - PERIOD.

The other reason for the dealer is that it still has an open roof separation recall - yes, I checked this before I purchased it. I would like to get that resolved while it's going to be away anyhow.

The mileage and avg economy will be recorded as well as all parameters of the trip setting which stores avg mph and many other details

Just have a tuner set the rev limiter to 2000 before you take it in to the shop; there'll be no joy riding then

I'm doing that to my truck when I take it in for an alignment next week.

I had to carry my truck in for the evaporator core to be replaced under warranty and I set the rev limiter to 4500 and 60mph on the speed. I was going to set it lower but then I got to thinking about if they were pulling out into traffic and it shut off on them too low and got rearended. I also put a piece of tape on the diagnostic port with a note not to reflash prom or it will not run.

Make sure you are 100% satisfied with the work, the dealership we had our DSOM C6's front end repainted fixed every little detail that was brought to attention.
