here is the word now.

their is nothing to rent, no hotel or motel from conroe on up to dallas that has room.
my house sit on blocks, latest word is that water will rise at least 4 feet in side my house.
unless it shifts we will get the edge of the high winds and all of the tropical winds.
my brothers house sits lower then mine close to V8 so i know he will have at least
8 feet of water in side his home from the storm surge.

and to top it off my hard headed wife still does not want to leave.
she just does not understand or want to try and understand what is going to happen.
i can only hope after this she will know what it means to lose every thing you have.
i have borded everything up, but the water will take the rest.

Damn man, good luck and i hope it doesn't get as bad as they think it will. Start stacking stuff as high as you can off the ground. Maybe you can save a good bit.
Maybe she will come to her senses before it's too late to get out.

Wow, well I hope this thing turns away and everyone stays safe. Having lost everything in Hugo I sympathize with you.

sounds like my hard headed sister, who has a house in bayou vista (close to galveston)....... she wanted to stay there instead of her house in houston, which is a block away from mine. she said she wanted to "see" the hurricane. I told her,...... are u really that ignorant ??? this thing is not playin around, its not goin to be another Rita.... this thing is huge and mean, the water had already covered her fishing pier this morning while she was over there doing last minute things. Alot of people think its just a joke. They think nothing is goin to happen. We will see what they say in a week, after the power is restored. Houston should experience at least Cat 1 winds. They extend as far as 115 miles !!! Tomorrow afternoon we will start to experience the effects. They might have shelters in the Houston area..... possibly some schools, Reliant stadium and minute maid park..Be safe everyone.

I told the wife expect to lose everything, and she broke down, the truth hurts some times but its the facts, the truck will remain at home so good luck to it, I put most of the stuff in the new building built last week, the house is good for 120mph winds(thats what they said when they built it) the rising water will most likely get us, I will be back saturday afternoon unless the water is much higher.

good luck to everyone and be safe.
