its 12:45 here and pretty calm. we had some weak winds around 20-30...nothing like the 115 gusts they were predicting. now im getting some light rain with a lil wind. nothing outa the ordinary.

wheres thesse 115+ winds they predicted in my area? and what the hell is up with our curfew?

they always say its calm before the **** hits though so im on standby

3:00 a.m. The wind is really moving now. Probably some 70mph gusts. We still have power thank Goodness, about 50 miles inland. Currently not as bad as I expected. Hope all on the coast are ok!

Update from me, winds kickin ***, bunch of fences blown down

and the best part one of the 75 foot pine trees in my front yard is starting to heave the ground a little away from the house but i am worried when the wind changes directions in a few hours and the sucker gets pounded towards the house, it's 40 or 50 years old and i really dont want a 36" diameter tree through my damn house

3.45....the radio says crystal island is under/gone...one family called from the second story of their beach house and they were waist deep. the wind is up great and its only 30 mins away from me. power has been out for a good while. im sitting in the civic in the driveway with the brights on listening to the radio and the car is rocking-and-a-rolling the howl is spooky but everything in my neck of the woods is still good (spring/humble/woodlands). i hear down town is getting smacked pretty hard right now.

everyone keep dry. time for anotha beer

Everybody stay safe... The surge isn't looking good for the coastal areas and I hope the winds aren't as bad as expected. I remember returning home to La Porte after Hurricane Alicia and had a couple large trees down in the yard.

quick update before the battery backup dies

Power in the entire west side is gone, down lines everywhere, i have my modem and router running on my desktop battery backup but not sure how long it will last

my store is surviving but the shopping center isn't, 2 down light poles, tons of broken glass, channel letter signs obliterated
