I laugh every time I open this thread. I find it funny that most non-southerners are entriged with a southern accents and I myself find a mid-west or northern accent to be like nails on a chalk board.
I have a friend, who is a country as they get, that went to Michigan on business. When out to dinner he noticed that every waitress in the place kept coming to his table and asking if he needed anything, turns out they were just beside themselves at his accent and trying to get him to talk. Of course if I was him and single like he was I would have used that opportunity in a positive way but his dumb *** got pissed off about it. I would have shown them the O-face with a southern draw!

 

I hear ya and completely accept that if I was a true southern I'd be shacked up in a yankee ***** house instead. LOL But I am not (I was raised down near the southern tip of West By God Virginia until I was 12 and that was pretty freaking hick) so the **** turns me on. It's only accents that get me, Chinese, Spanish, French, and German do nothing for me. But if they speak kick *** english and have a twang in it...I wanna put my twang in it.
