Saw a buddy of mine who lives in my neighborhood that drives a lightning. Hes helped me a little bit with my truck and i know he has a 2800 rpm verter, 4lb upper on his truck along with boltons and a built tranny. We went from a 40mph roll and i got the jump....he pulled hard and put like 4 lengths on my right away. I was bewildered so i let out of it.

Now before somebody gives me some BS, Colby rode in my truck today and from a 40 roll, i hit a dead spot. I dunno if its my gearing or im running REALLY rich or both but around there, im dead and thats apearantly where Jake (lightning buddy) makes his power!


So i play catch up and we go again from a 50 roll. He puts his DAMNED 4 lengths on me and then stops pulling completely at about 80 and stays there. He calls me and says "holy ****, your top end is a bitch" I was like "wait till i get my live tune and my gears, i wanna rematch"

Im gonna get him damnit but it made me feel a little bit better about my modding.

Yea,its good considering he runs like a 12.8 (i think its lower but im being conservative) and my **** is pig rich with a stock open end 3.42 Anywho, it just tells me that i can still have hope!

 

Well see you didn't say he ran 12.8's in the first post.

gears arent gonna help you from rolls like that. They might actually hurt you I think?

well at 40 mph the lighting will still kick your ***, thats the very bottom of 2nd gear, now a 50 -60 punch would be better since he has 3.55 gears to your 4.10's and in more of a power range for the 4.10 gears.

 

I'm set up to drop back into first at 40 =]
