Default houston dodge deflated my ego:(

i was on the feeder on my way home. i saw a black rcsb ram daytona on the freeway cruising pretty good so i thought this was my chance to test my new motor out

he bit and from 80-85 which is a 3rd shift for me(sucky), he gave a good pull on me up until around 110-115 where he would let out his rear bumper was ahead of my front bumper about a foot or 2 by the time he would let out. ive only been pulled once by a hemi truck that bad all motor but that is a buddy of mine (he runs 12.6's on spray but he ran me on motor) and i was still with the 5.3...thats badblackhemi on this forum btw.

anyways after being stumped for a minute i remembered i didnt see that goofy looking stripe on the back of the truck! did i just race a srt-10?

i got on google and searched it up and sure enough the srt-10 looks almost identicle to the daytona. that spoiler threw me off...but im not 1000% sure that there was no stripe so i was hoping i could find the member on one of the truck sites. it all went down on 59&bw8 on the north side of houston. anyone know who it was?

it was probably a srt-10 as hemi's drop the anchor in 3rd gear. Did it have the chrome 20s or the 22s that come on srt-10's

SRT-10's have 22 inch wheels - those alone are hard to miss and easy to spot...I'm sure the dodges can debadge that stripe, so it may have resembled an SRT-10. I can't imagine your stock LS1 hanging with a 500HP truck up to 110mph though.

looks like the biggest difference (ther than the wheels) is the side skirts on the Rumble Bee. Hood scoop looks the same.

Rumble Bee

SRT-10

ok so...i dont know why i kept saying rumble bee...i meant daytona. the spoiler made me think it was a daytona from far away. i did a google search for a ram daytona and it looks like they only make that truck in either orange or silver. that leads me to beleave i either raced a srt10 or or a rcsb hemi that threw a wing on for looks. i really wish i could figure out who it was to figure out what all is done. heres a pic of a daytona for those who never saw one

i really didnt pay all that much attention to the wheels and bodykit. i saw the spoiler from about 100yds away when it passed me and jumped to the conclusion that it was a daytona. i also want to say that the spoiler didnt stick up as high as the spoiler in the picture of the daytona. it was dark outside and it was a black truck and my windows are tinted way too dark so i didnt even get a glimpse of his wheels or body kit. i was also on the left side of the race so my passenger door covored all the details.

there was no hanging with him...he got the jump and had a good steady pull all the way up to wherever we shut it down. he didnt straight up rape me but he did beat the **** outa me lol.

I would say high 12's is pretty impressive in a truck that weighs 5200 lbs. That calculates to 479 hp at the wheels. Im not sure how that doesnt impress you. You might be thinken about the guys that have a hard time launching with a low profile 22" tire. I think anyone would have a difficult time controlling 500+ tq in a manual trans truck with no sidewall. The guys that are able to launch are seeing high 12's. Those with slicks are around a 12.5
