Anyone who I have done gears for has heard about my warranty. If anything goes wrong due to an error I made, I will do what I can to fix it up to and including replacing the whole rear axle.
Well, I am extending that warranty to certain things that are outside of my power.
For instance, after installing GTOSilverado's gears, his pinion seal started leaking. I replaced it as soon as I possibly could. It turned out that the spring on the inside of the seal popped off, eliminating the effectiveness of the seal.
Lastly, after installing Wheatley's 4.10s, his gears started making noise about 70 miles later. I was baffled as the install was perfect, and the gears left the house quiet.
I went over to his house for round two (troubleshooting session). Again, perfect pattern, everything was set to spec, all bearings were replaced. Still noisy. I told Wheatley that I would get to the bottom of the problem and called around. After talking to the head Tech at Randys Ring and Pinion, we concluded that root cause of the problem is either a bad gear set, or bad oil.
The Tech mentioned that we can send the gears for them to test, and that if it was a manufacturing defect, they would warranty the gears.
I told Wheatley that if the gears were not quieter by the time they were broken in, to go ahead and order a new set, and I will install them for free.
I just wanted everyone to know the type of service I provide.
