Default Fun at the speed shop

When i dont have much to do and have to kill an hour or 2 i like to go to the speed shop and talk to my buddy and goof off. Well this guy came in and was talking to the "Manager" i dont know his title but he is sortof the boss. Well he wants his truck fast, its a very nice looking 2004 ECSB 4.8 2wd. Rick (Manager, boss dude) suggested to this guy to go with a Rear Mounted Turbo.. The guy looked at him like he was stupid. He wanted he was goin to put a turbo on his truck in the back.. It was funny!

Rick started laughing and stopped the guy, he told the guy that i had a kit and was gettin ready to install it. He started asking questions, so i told him straight up that just a turbo is a bad idea, That the tranny wouldnt last long, then the rear end would be the next problem. he wanted to know how much it would cost. i sat there and figured some numbers, I came up with $8000-9000.
Does that sound like a good figure?

STS kit
Intercooler
Fuel pump
Injectors
Tune
Tranny
Rear end (Eaton LSD or Trutrac)
Installed

I went and got my laptop out of the truck and showed the guy some videos of yalls trucks and stuff.... He is hooked!!!

4000 for turbo setup
700 for intercooler
500 tuning
250 injectors
2800 tranny for level 5 more if going with 80e
400 LSD
115 Gear install kit
170 Good gears
110 Fuel pump

9045.00 + install + Oil and Misc crap like wideband 02 fuel pressure guage etc = well over 10 k

I would go N/A and cut that cost down alot and build a forged motor 370 or 408 and get a good tranny and rear end and spray the **** out of it and be faster then he would with the turbo.

He is keeping his stock gears, and its his DD so its not a Wild Ride. Thats why i told him the info on the STS.
Im goin to talk to my buddy at the speed shop, He is fixin to be a Dealer for STS and get EFI Live. I think he will be a Dealer for EFI Live also?
Its a very nice place, you can ask Dockrocker. This guy knows his stuff.
Its a nice lookin future for him.. In house dyno and all the goodies!

He can still get basic bolt-ons, mild (yet streetable) cam (w/ springs & p-rods), and make some descent horsepower with a tune.

I'd definately add a converter to that list since the tranny will be built.
