I would think it would be nice to have for inspection purposes... wipe it off (you know it'd get filthy back there) and see how your gears and locker are doing... its really not a bad idea.

my buddy has one on his HD... has about 20k miles on it i think. i know he puts some stress on his rear diff wit towing his brothers race car just about every weekend to the track and towing his friends when they break down

If i still had my G-80 id send it to you but i gave it to one of the Duke Boys..

i do have a complete rear housing with gears and G-80 (or open diff... not sure).... need anything?

I have one.I get a lot of ?'s about it.I like to be able to see how the diff. looks.

Maybe once I get to Texas, or hell, I might be able to even swing through there on the drive home... but I doubt I'll mess with it until later on. I'm just going to put a new set of gears and a truetrac in it. Probably go with 3.90's this time around. These 4.10's are just too short for the highway driving I like to do. A chunk of what broke off flew past the gears and chipped a tooth or two, so if I'm getting new gears, I'm going to change ratios. The 4.10's are nice for the track and all but the 3.90's will work better on the bottle and be better all around IMO...

I'll have an S-10 to drive once I'm in Texas, but I dont want to turn into one of those "Always on jackstands" trucks... I like driving it too much.

i have a few set of 3.42s.... and a NIB set of Motive 4.10s...
Let me know if you need a Diff.... might can find something cheap or free..

I was reading this thinking, wow what a coincedence...I just saw this on sharpshooter's truck. I hope he posts LOL.

That was hilarious.

I like the idea of being able to keep an eye on things. Even with a lowered truck, you can just jack it up and look around instead of taking the cover off.
