Naw they are not watching the internet traffic, the company I work for has way to many people, unless there was a specific inquiry to do so. But I am sure they watch the content filters, such as **** and stuff....

 

get in good with someone directly in IT...could save your butt one day.
Not that you are doing anything "bad", but just in case he knows something is about to go down...he can give you a heads up.

No not this time, it was the "Donkey show" that got me busted, cause my boss preferrs sheep.....

 

Um I wouldn't get offended by that he may just be trying to be fair. He may of gotten on to other employees who do similar things but are not getting the job done on time or have accurate work. So to keeps his as out of the HR office he's gotta be equal across the board. Give him a break after all I'm sure he did have to do something with you getting a promotion.

I was talked to by a manager a couple of years ago. He couldn't really find anything wrong with my performance other than I surfed the internet. He was a **** poor manager and ended up getting run off not long after that. Nobody else has ever said anything because as you said, as long as people are getting work done and doing a good job, thats all that counts. I actually think it helps because it helps aleve some stress. Alot of other people go around talking to co-workers to help kill time. But then you are taking someone elses time away. I prefer surfing..
