Where can I buy weld through primer. I went to Oreilly's and home depot, hoping they could at least point to the right place but both people I talked to thought I was insane. "Why would you want to prime something then weld it", my response "Nevermind....."

It protects the bare metal while allowing one to weld without having to gind off the primer.

I would check a welding supply store for the primer.

One reason is so that you can strip down metal and prime it so it wont rust then later on when you need to weld in that area you don't have to remove the rust.

I am re-enforcing the place where my leaf spring mounts. So I am welding a peice of plate over an existing mount and another plate along the inside rocker panel. You use weld threw prime on the bare peice of metal so that rust does not form inbetween them. It is mainly a precautionary step because this main area is where my new cross member is going to mount and my roll cage.
