What's to stop someone from just listing the wrong location? There really isn't any easy way for us to verify that it is correct. I understand the want to put even more protections in place but, there will always be someone out there trying to scam no matter what.

The system in place at least gives the buyer the chance to do a little backround on the seller. You can judge a lot about someones intentions by their post here. If they have at least 50 post and seem helpful they are probably a good seller. If they registered 6 months ago and their first post is in the classifieds you might want to think twice about buying from them.

It's been brought up before about possibly making the rules "6 months AND 50 post" but, so far the current rules seem to do ok.

Good thought though, definately post up if you have any other ideas.

LMAO...we must have the same friends.

They should post a pic, but posting a pic should be in their best interest, not a rule IMO.

Google images has a lot of pics of stuff.

In the end the buyer needs to decide if they are comfortable with the seller and if there are any doubts then either the buyer needs to back out or go after more info from the seller.

I've been lerking on this site for a year before I ever signed up. I still visit here most days looking for something of interest or that little info that I need. I do not have enough posts to sell anything yet, but have great review on another site that I have been a member of for years. They make us pay a fee to be able to sell there. I agree you can't be careful enough. I will not buy anything from anyone with out a phone number and address. And anything that seems to good to be true is probably just that.

even good intentions go wrong... I sold me stock gears to someone on here, I could have sworn they were mint, I just pulled them for different ratios. Well, when the buyer received them he said they were beat up and chipped etc. (I know they were packaged well). Well, I didn't have pics of them before shipping and I may have missed flaws, I asked him to send me pics, he did a few days later. They may have been a different set of gears for all I know, but I do know he had more proof than I did so I refunded his money, I had no intention of screwing anyone and I hope the buyer was honest with me... I told him to use the gears for a fishing weight because it wasn't worth shipping back and I really had no use for them, damaged or not.

That sucks. Lesson learned tho. I guess you gotta take Seller Beware into consideration too.
Make sure you get pics of what your selling for your records and maybe even of the packaging. Never know if they buyer is going to rip ya.
Thanks for the heads up.
