It's being worked on. The servers are actually pretty damn fast but, there is a software/database shortcoming with VBB that would probably kill the fastest servers when it rears up.

Any update on speeding up the server. I was going to reply to a post and type a long azz reply and it said server too busy when I hit the back button my reply was gone its kind of anying but I realize ya'll are still working out all the kinks.

It's really just a limitation in the software that kills the server. Brains has been looking into fixing it for a while but, there is no easy solution. Throwing more server at it won't do much, the server we're on is pretty damn stout as is. 
One tip I always recommend after typing a long reply is this. Once done with your reply highlight the entire thing and hit Control-C(Copy). That will copy the text to the clipboard. That way it will be on your computer if something bad happens and all you have to do to recover it is hit Control-V(Paste). That has saved me from retyping a big reply several times over the years.

I dont have a clue what VBB is but hey if thtas what the problem is then okey doke.
