I bought my 03 Silverado SS used about 2 months ago and noticed recently that it has Michelen tires. But friend of mine has a 05 Silverado SS(bought brand new) and his has Goodyears. Now my truck only has about 12,000 miles on it so I doubt the tires were replaced. So what tires are suppose to come on a Silverado SS? Did they change depending on year?

 

My 03 came with goodyears.

 

my 05' has goodyear eagle LS 275/55/R20 tires.

all of the the silverado ss came with good year ls 275/55/R20 I would say the previous owner changed the tires.

The 275/55/20 Goodyear Eagle LS-2's now come on late 05' SS trucks, all 06' SS trucks, and most other 06' GM vehicles that come with 20's.
The LS-2 basically means they are V rated tires (higher speed rating) rather than the standard LS Goodyear Eagles. It gives them more stability in the sidewall of the tire and a little different rubber compound.
My early 05' VHO came with the standard 275/55/20 Goodyear Eagles LS's.

Well they are Michelin MS tires which are according to discount tire just alittle better than the Goodyear LS tires. They are V rated for speed but other than that they are the same. Plus they are about $20 more a tire.
