Traction Control/Stabilitrack Questions...
#1
As I understand it even with the Stabilitrack disabled it will still still engage in some way if it senses excessive spin... right? Correct me if I'm wrong.
So my real question is can this be bypassed with a tune or is the traction control/stabilitrac stuff not controlled by the PCM? Are these things that could be tweaked with HPT?
I'm new to this whole thing b/c with my Silverado SS there wasn't traction control to worry about.

Using sensors, StabiliTrak:
1) Detects the difference between the steering wheel angle and the direction you're actually turning
2) Applies quick, precise force to the appropriate brakes to help the driver control the vehicle’s direction to help keep it on course
StabiliTrak is available today on many GM SUVs, vans, cars and trucks.

Stabilitrak is a bitch... We've done several dyno runs with our's and I just know when it kicks on at about 30mph, its robbin about 25-35 hp or more..
Basically how it works is cuts power to the engine to let the wheels slow down, but not stop. Traction Control is the one that I think applies the brakes
