I just took mine back to the closest Optima dealer (but I think it was the same chain). I didn't take in the receipt.

Budhayes -- thanks, I'll try that

This was weird. Today our 02 suburban's battery went dead. The bolt corroded so bad that it broke off in the battery. The wires just fell off. Of course I know what the cause was in this case.

i had the same problem as you did erik. optmia must have had a bad batch of batteries come out. i went threw about 4 or so in the past year, all of them tested good but would not take or hold a charge. at the store i get mine from had at least 10 bought back for the same reason.

me and one of my friends at the parts store did figure out a way to charge them. we took another battery and hooked it up parallel with the optmia and hooked the charger to the other battery and it charged fine and held its charge. I did that on one of the old batteries that i had replaced. I wouldn't run it in the ss but he is running it in his beater and hasnt had a problem in almost a year.

Yah -- mine took a charge 3-4 times and then would be dead. Sorry to hear you're having the same trouble.

LOL, I'm on my 3rd or 4th... Until I read this I thought it was because my truck has been down for months at a time for Mods..

I think GM is using OnStar to spy on us..

They gave me another red top. I noticed that the yellow only has a 1 yr warranty. My problems were definately the battery, havent had a problem since it was installed
