First off, I don't have an SS Silverado, I have a 2006 Vortec MAX Extended Cab with the 6'-6" bed. The truck has the same dimensions as the SS.

I can not find an exhaust system for my truck specifically, but the SS is the closest thing to my truck.

So I have a couple of question for someone who has the GM Performance Parts cat back exhaust system for the SS. It is part number 17800765. The system is made by Borla.

Questions:

I understand the exhaust system does not come with a tip. Do I need one? Does the bare pipe extend far enough to just leave the tip off?

How does this system sound? Does it drone on the highway or when pulling?

Any feedback on this system is much appreciated. The system I really want is close to $1,300, so I am looking pretty closely at this one instead. Here is a link to the one I would get if I were rich

Nobody has a GMPP exhaust on their SS? They must be selling like hotcakes

You may have better luck with your question at Silveradoss.com. Lots of guys run corsa exhaust (what gm typically sells). I have a flowmaster on mine with the stock tail/tip
